Deputy Labor & Social Affairs Minister Domna Michailidou completed a two-day visit to Berlin on Friday to discuss with her counterpart the minimum guaranteed wage, jobs for people with disabilities, reuniting refugee families, and hosting unaccompanied children.
Michailidou met with Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Rolf Schmachtenberg to discuss the possibility of setting up a Europe-wide framework to include all national systems for minimum guaranteed wage protection. She also discussed ways of including people with disabilities in the labor market, a priority for the Greek ministry and a sector in which Germany has extensive experience.
The issue of family reunification and unaccompanies minors was discussed with Ulrich Weinbrenner, head of the German Interior Ministry's Department of Migration, Integration, Refugees and European Harmonisation.
Michailidou said the meetings were held in the spirit of exchanging good practices, especially on the issue of minimum guaranteed wage, as the systems in both countries are similar.
