Debate on ratifying Greek-French agreement to be held in Parliament on October 7

Newsroom

The Greek-French defence agreement is to be tabled in parliament by the end of this week for ratification by parliament plenum in the following week, Parliament sources said on Wednesday. They said the agreement be discussed by the relevant parliamentary committee on Tuesday, October 5 and then go to the plenum on Thursday, October 7.

The same sources said that a briefing of parliament by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in accordance with parliamentary regulations will not take place next Tuesday because main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras and opposition Movement for Change (KINAL) leader Fofi Gennimata have prior engagements at the Summit of the European Socialists.

Given the above constraints, the briefing will take place on the day that the ratification of the agreement will be discussed in parliament.
