Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew arrived in Athens

Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Markos Bolaris welcomed Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at Athens International Airport on Wednesday.

"On behalf of Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, the Greek government, and in the name of all Greeks, we welcomed the head of the Greek Orthodox Church, the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, with joy and honor," said the minister in his statement, and added that Bartholomew is visiting Greece to inaugurate the Center for Gerontology and Welfare Support in the town of Dilesi, north of Attica, which was built with the support of the Athens Archdiocese.
