KINAL's Genimata: "Give European socialists the chance to build the Europe we want'

Movement For Change (KINAL) leader Fofi Genimata launced a vehement critique against both Prime Minister & SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras and main opposition party leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis, during her party'smain campaign gathering at Kotzias Square in central Athens.

"KINAL is the progressive movement against the two sides of conservatism, SYRIZA and New Democracy," she said, and added that Greece "can turn a page, so that pride, dignity, optimism, hope, can return, via a political turnover, a progressive change."

Genimata accused both Tsipras and Mitsotakis "of consciously playing the game of polarization, on the backs of the Greek people," and that the state television and other media are trying to convince voters that elections are a "game for two, Tsipras or Mitsotakis, the two gladiators," in what is "a manufactured polirisation."

The KINAL leader said that the electoral performance of the two major parties, SYRIZA and New Democracy, is portrayed "as a derby", a supposed close call which she said is "fake news, it's a trap to lure progressive voters from KINAL at the last minute."

"Turn your back to them," said Genimata, and on Sunday, "send a message of change, progressive change, cast your vote for the Movement of Change," she added.

Genimata said that anyone who votes for Mitsotakis "says Yes to (EPP's candidate) Manfred Weber and continous austerity which feeds into nationalism and the far right."

Concerning Tsipras, Genimata said that anyone who votes for him "is giving away his/her expectations for Europe's future to the chaotic European Left that took a harsh stance against Greece in the years of the crisis."

Tsipras "ocassionally dresses up as a socialist, and even mimicks the voice of (former PASOK founder and leader) Andreas Papandreou," Genimata pointed out.

"Enough with the theatrics and the masks," she concluded, "vote for KINAL, to give European socialists the chance to build the Europe we want."
