Aegean: Best Regional Airline in Europe for ninth year in a row

Aegean Airlines was recognized as "Best Regional Airline in Europe" by the 2019 Skytrax World Airline Awards, considered the "Oscars" of the aviation sector.

The prize was awarded on Tuesday at the Le Bourget airport, during the Paris Air Show, and it is the ninth consecutive year Aegean has received this award and the tenth time overall.

Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted said the award recognized Aegean's staff, which achieved the difficult distinction of a high level of customer satisfaction.

Aegean Managing Director Dimitris Gerogiannis said that Aegean celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and "the focus of our philosophy from the very start has been to offer high-quality services to our customers."

The awards began in 1999 and are handed out after global surveys on customer satisfaction. During the latest survey - conducted from Sept. 2018 to May 2019 in six languages - there were over 21.6 million participants, including nationals of 100 countries and over 300 airlines. A total of 49 factors were taken into account.
