"It will surely be a very difficult struggle, but we can succeed," government spokesman Dimitris Tzanakopoulos on Sunday said in an interview with newspaper "Documento", noting that the citizens "are now deciding about their lives."

He pointed out that "the ND's programme has conflicting social targets while it is totally different from SYRIZA's programme."

Tzanakopoulos stressed that citizens are called on to choose who and which programme will govern the country for the next four years, how their living conditions and their daily lives will improve. He explained that SYRIZA gave an end to memoranda and settled the Greek debt issue. Moreover, it started to heal wounds by giving priority to those who were most in need, and now again it is asking for the people's mandate in order to continue safely on the path of development for all, with targeted tax reliefs for low and middle income, with new and better-paid jobs and strengthening the welfare state with emphasis on public health and public education.

"New jobs with better wages, sustainable growth with targeted tax cuts, democratic transformation of administration and strengthening of the welfare state," he said.
