Wage rises, labour rights, targeted tax relief, and social welfare are SYRIZA's goals, Tzanakopoulos says
NewsroomWage rises, labour rights, targeted tax relief, and social welfare are the main goals of SYRIZA, Dimitris Tzanakopoulos said on Tuesday in an interview with ANT1.
Tzanakopoulos underlined that the government managed to take the country out of the memoranda and surveillance, adding that "we are now deciding on the main policies", while expressing his concern about the return of the country in the "dark" period of the International Monetary Fund, with New Democracy as a government.
Talking about the debate, he said it is bizarre that ND objects to it, given that, as he said, it is usually avoided by acting prime ministers rather than the main opposition.
Speaking of the election outcome, he said there are two plans. On the one hand, jobs with labour rights and good wages, targeted tax exemptions and support for the welfare state, and on the other hand, ND leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis who took back his promises for tax cuts in 2019 and 2020.
