Greece's third enhanced surveillance report to be discussed in the Eurogroup
NewsroomGreece's third enhanced surveillance report is the first topic of the Eurogroup on Monday, according to the agenda of the meeting.
Eurozone finance ministers are expected to discuss the results of the report released last month, although it is noted that this report is not linked to a decision on activating the second set of debt relief measures. The decision on these measures is linked to the fourth enhanced surveillance report, which is due to be published in autumn. However, according to a well-informed source in the eurozone, ministers decided to hold talks on Greece just one day after the national elections to "send the right message" to the new government.
Moreover, the Eurogroup is expected to discuss the eurozone financial situation as a whole and the prospects for 2020, while ministers will be informed of the European Commission's decision last week not to initiate the excessive deficit procedure for Italy.
