PM Mitsotakis chairs meeting at the Shipping and Island Policy Ministry

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Thursday visited the Shipping and Island Policy Ministry and chaired a meeting held at Minister Yiannis Plakiotakis' office.

In statements after the meeting, Mitsotakis referred to the Shipping Ministry's priorities and set five main goals. The first is the Greek flag to become again attractive for the Greek shipowners. The second refers to the ports and the need for substantial investments in the port of Piraeus and elsewhere. The huge potential of the sea tourism is the third goal and finally the island policy and the safety in sea.

On his part, Plakiotakis said that his aim is the Greek shipping to become the steam engine of the Greek economy and also referred to the sea transport safety. "Shipping and Island Policy are top on the government's agenda" said Plakiotakis.
