President of main opposition party SYRIZA and former prime minister Alexis Tsipras is on Tuesday heading to Skopje, the capital city of the Republic of North Macedonia, to participate in a conference organized by the Economist, titled 'Reinforcing the momentum for European integration', which Economist Events calls the 'Western Balkans Summit'.

The main opposition leader will address a morning session titled 'What are the next steps towards European Integration for the Western Balkans?-The Prespes Agreement: how is it shaping the Balkan landscape?' alongside Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia Zoran Zaev and the former president of the European Parliament Martin Schulz.

According to Alexis Tsipras' aides, the SYRIZA leader will stress the importance of the Prespes Agreement towards regional stability and the boosting of the western Balkans' EU accession prospects.

He will also reportedly underline the value of continuing Greece's active foreign policy in the Balkans and of promoting Greece-Republic of North Macedonia relations for the benefit of the region and Europe at large.
