The Greek coast guard intervened in two separate incidents in the Aegean involving migrants and refugees on Monday.

Specifically, a Greek coast guard patrol vessel located and rescued 49 foreign nationals that were in a dinghy in the sea north of the island of Ikaria and transferred them to the port of Vathy on the island of Samos.

The second incident occurred south of the island of Farmakonissi when a coast guard vessel located a wooden boat with 72 migrants and refugees on board and took them to Farmakonissi dock.
