More than 100 KTEL buses will run on the streets of Athens

Newsroom

More than 100 KTEL inter-city coaches will join the public transport fleet on the streets of Athens as of Monday, while, until the end of November, another 100 buses will be added, in order to further improve the level of services in the Athens network of urban transport. Most of these buses will run on peripheral routes (north, south, east and west Attica).

"The plan for strengthening the Athens Public Transport Organisation (OASA) by assigning the execution of the peripheral routes to the long-distance coach service KTEL is being implemented precisely according to the schedule that we have set. Already, the concession of more than half of the bus lines in Attica has been completed, for which at least 100 vehicles have been assigned and within November we will reach 100 pct of the reinforcement provided by our cooperation, ie 200 vehicles on 60 lines," the CEO of OASA Nikos Athanasopoulos said to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA).
