PM Tsipras: Country's progress to the future should not be interrupted
Newsroom"The country's progress to the future should not be interrupted," Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said, after casting his ballot in general elections on Sunday at a central Athens voting center.
"This is a day of democracy and Greeks will be deciding for the future of the country in the next four years," Tsipras said at statements after he voted. "They will be deciding about their lives."
Tsipras urged all voters to exercise their obligation despite the high temperatures "because it is worth devoting 20 minutes and being present during a critical decision on the future of our country."
He particularly addressed himself to young voters, "because they are the ones who can achieve great overturns and great changes and they must not let the critical decision about their lives and future to others."
The PM expressed optimism at what he called "a critical battle" and "determination to the last minute so that all sacrifices and efforts of the Greek people are not wasted, and the country's progress to the future is not interrupted."
