Justice is one of the top issues for the new government, Tsiaras says
NewsroomGreece's soon-to-be new justice minister, Kostas Tsiaras, on Tuesday outlined the new government's top priorities relating to justice in an interview with ANT1 TV.
Justice, Tsiaras noted, was one of "the top issues" for the new government, as Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has also said.
He outlined the objectives of the new government, referring to a return to normality and the independence of justice.
"A lot of work is needed," stressed Tsiaras, pointing out that "we will carry out everything we have announced," while asking for changes in the penal code.
"There are articles to which we are totally opposed," he explained.
"The outgoing government should not have passed the penal code two days before the announcement of elections," he said and underlined that "we will immediately change articles to which we are completely opposed."
