Boosting bilateral relations between Greece and Israel is a priority for the Greek government, Minister of Development and Investments Adonis Georgiadis said in a Wednesday meeting with Ambassador of Israel to Greece, Irit Ben-Abba Vitale.

The meeting was held in the presence of Deputy Minister of Development and Investments Christos Dimas and Deputy Foreign Minister Kostas Fragogiannis.

Georgiadis said that "we had a very constructive meeting with the Israeli ambassador in the framework of the (standing) agreements between the two countries, to strengthen our ties and make them closer in the future. I want to thank her because this meeting is very important to us."

The Israeli ambassador said that she "would like to thank the Minister (Georgiadis) for his energy and efficiency during today's meeting. There are many things that the two countries can do together, first and foremost being the acceleration of Israeli investments in Greece, which is the number one priority for us. The second important point is the continuation of work on the ecosystem and on combining the innovation ecosystems in the two countries. I therefore wish this government the best and a great many successes," she concluded.

Deputy Minister of Development and Investments Christos Dimas stressed that further promotion of Greek-Israeli bilateral relations is a priority for the Greek government.

"We both have a lot to gain in the fields of research, technology and innovation," said Dimas, adding that it was "very important to coordinate our actions towards more agreements and partnerships in these areas."

Deputy Foreign Minister Kostas Fragogiannis also underlined that "we expect to further extend our relationship with efforts to render the business sectors of the two countries more extrovert, in the context of our international efforts."
