PM Mitsotakis to present policy statements on Saturday

Newsroom

Parliament is busily preparing for the government's policy statements over the weekend of July 20-21.

The plan is for parliamentary committees to begin debate and processing of the new government's first draft bills as of July 24. Prior to this, the parties will name the MPs representing them on standing parliamentary committees, which will have to convene to vote for their chairs.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will present his government's policy statements on Saturday, to be followed by the first six speakers set by the parties.

On Sunday and Monday, cabinet members and deputies will alternate as speakers on the floor. It is hoped that at least 10 deputy ministers will also be able to address the assembly.
