Greece did not enter the crisis by accident, SYRIZA's Charitsis says
Newsroom"The Greek people want to know who was involved, and in what way, in the scandals that cost the state coffers billions of euros. That's the only way to restore a feeling of justice," SYRIZA spokesperson Alexis Charitisis stated on Tuesday, speaking to TV Alpha.
According to a SYRIZA announcement, Charitsis commented that Greece "did not enter the crisis by accident," during a discussion on the Novartis case, adding that "in 2011, spending on pharmaceuticals in Greece was four billion euros higher." SYRIZA, he added, "stands accused for training a spotlight on the scandal in its political dimensions".
Regarding the economy, Charitsis said that "our government left full coffers and an economy that allowed the adoption of relief measures for the social majority" while he criticised New Democracy for abolishing the social dividend, accusing ND of wanting only to boost higher incomes.
