Proposal for the relocation of 400 asylum seekers from Greece to France confirmed

A French proposal for the relocation of 400 asylum seekers from Greece to France was confirmed on Saturday at Alternate Migration Minister and Asylum Giorgos Koumoutsakos' meeting with the Interior Minister of France Christophe Castaner.

The meeting was held in Paris on the sidelines of the OECD Ministerial Meeting on Migration.

According to a Migration Ministry announcement, the meeting that was held ahead of French Secretary of State to the Minister of the Interior Laurent Nunez's visit to Athens on Monday, Christophe Castaner's proposal for the relocation of 400 asylum seekers to France was confirmed.

Castaner also said that France supports and will support Greece on the migration/refugees issue. The two parts also agreed to continue their contacts and cooperation ahead of the negotiations on the European Treaty for Migration and Asylum.
