Curfew violations reached 1,916 on Wednesday
NewsroomViolations of the curfew imposed to contain the spread of coronavirus in Greece reached 1,916 on Wednesday police reported on Thursday, while two people were arrested for the illegal operation of shops and other businesses.
Specifically, police said that violations of curfew were recorded in the region of Attica (824), on the Ionian islands (140), on Crete (139), in Thessaloniki (137), in Western Greece (131), in the Peloponnese (108), in Central Macedonia (85), in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (79), in Thessaly (72), on the islands of the South Aegean (69), in Central Greece (56), in Epirus (35), on the islands of the North Aegean (34) and in Western Macedonia (7).
It is noted that a total of 15,111 violations have been recorded since the first day of the measures on Monday, March 23. Police also made two arrests for the illegal operation of business premises, of which one in Attica and one in Western Greece. Police said that 328 persons have been arrested in total since March 12, the first day of measures restricting shop operation.
