14-day quarantine on international passenger arrivals extended to end of May
NewsroomThe mandatory 14-day self-quarantine rule on international flight arrivals, first imposed on March 16, is extended to the end of May, the Civil Aviation Authority said on Monday.
Exempted from this are the following categories: passengers in transit flights, flight crews, state flights, medical and humanitarian flights, military flights, cargo flights and Frontex flight passengers.
All international passengers must also take a Covid-19 test upon arrival. If the test is positive, foreign nationals are denied entry to Greece. Both they and Greek nationals entering Greece must stay in quarantine for 14 days. In addition, all flights from abroad may only land at the Athens International Airport, where the checks are held.
The extension was decided in consultation with the Health Ministry, the Civil Protection and the National Public Health Organization (EODY) as Greece is considering reopening the tourist season on June 1.
