Arrests for illegal operation of shops and other businesses rise to 174
NewsroomArrests for the violation of the measures announced by the government against the spread of coronavirus rose to 174 on Thursday, while 167 violations have been recorded between March 12 and March 19 , according to Greek police.
Specifically, 66 arrests were in the Attica region, 29 in Western Greece, 11 in Thessaly, nine in Thessaloniki, nine in central Macedonia, eight in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, seven in the South Aegean, seven on Crete, six in Western Macedonia, six in the Peloponnese, six in the region of Central Greece, four in the North Aegean, four on the Ionian islands and two in the region of Epirus.
According to police, the arrests concerned the illegal operation of hairdressing salons, cafeterias, restaurants and tavernas, grill houses, flower shops, sports facilities , shops and other outlets to which current restrictions apply.
