"The goal is to have a strong government with a four-year horizon, to do the job and finally reform the state," Vice-President of main opposition New Democracy, Adonis Georgiadis, said on Wednesday in an interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency's radio station "104.9 FM".
"We have the greatest opportunity of the last few decades. If we lose it, we deserve our fate," said Georgiadis.
Regarding possible post-election cooperation that ND is considering in the event that there is no single-party majority, Georgiadis clarified: "The only party that ND can really cooperate with is KINAL. There is nothing else."
On the government's proposal for the economy, Georgiadis noted that "before Kyriakos Mitsotakis has even been elected prime minister, the country has benefited from the idea that he will be elected prime minister, as the fall in interest rates since May 26 [the European elections where ND prevailed] ....amounts to 1.0 billion euros in savings on interest a year..."
