Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido, recognised by the EU as Venezuela's interim leader, called Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Monday to congratulate him on his recent electoral win, and thanked the Greek premier for recognizing him as Venezuela's transitional president.
Guaido invited Mitsotakis to visit Venezuela when the situation in the country is normalized and circumstances allow it. Finally, Guaido highlighted the key role that Greece can play in the EU in addressing the humanitarian crisis in his country.
Also on Monday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi called the Greek premier to congratulate him, and wished him good luck in his new duties. Mitsotakis and Sisi expressed their joint commitment to strengthen bilateral relations between Greece and Egypt.
