National Council welcomes parliament decision to proceed on German reparations claims

The National Council for the claims of German reparations to Greece on Thursday welcomed Parliament's resolution on April 17 to proceed with the necessary diplomatic steps.

In an announcement, it welcomed the decision which calls on the Greek government to «take all the necessary, especially diplomatic and legal action, for the claim of the debts and the full satisfaction of all demands of the Greek State from World Wars I and II.» The Council also called on «local, regional and Europarliament elections candidates to commit that they will actively support the just and strongly documened and inalienable demands of the Greek people, by presenting in public debate specific proposals.»
