Gov't arrears in private sector tax returns drop in April

General government arrears to the private sector eased to 1,660 billion euros in April from 1,779 billion in March, official data showed on Wednesday.

According to data by the Finance Ministry, new tax return arrears rose to 700 million euros from 417 million euros in March.

It should be noted that of the total of outstanding tax returns, 446 million euros have been outstanding for less than 90 days since they were first posted.
