Infrastructure and Transport Minister Christos Spirtzis sternly attacked the company "Attiki Odos" for raising its tolls in an interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency on Tuesday, accusing the company of "attempting to intervene in the shaping of the elections results during the election campaign using arbitrary tactics."
"They do not want [Prime Minister] Alexis Tsipras because he did not grant them any favours," claimed Spirtzis.
He also referred to the crucial dilemma of the elections, saying this was between "progress or regression" but also what is signalled by the choice between Tsipras and main opposition New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis. He accused New Democracy of hiding its programme, which he said was was unclear and vague, but also of hiding Mitsotakis himself, who was refusing to appear in a TV debate with Tsipras.
Spirtzis also expressed his belief that the result of the euroelections could be "reversed" since the stakes were now completely different.
On the next day at his ministry if SYRIZA wins the elections, Spirtzis said that "our priority will be to implement the social infrastructure and the production restructuring plan that we have already launched."
