General Secretary for Civil Protection Yiannis Tafyllis on Wednesday handed in his resignation to Citizen Protection Minister Michalis Chrisochoidis.
Tafyllis assumed office after the disastrous fire in Mati with a mission to set up and prepare legislation establishing a National Civil Protection Agency. The process was completed but the draft law, which went through a period of public consultation, was not voted on in parliament due to the early elections.
