Registered tourist hotels and housing in Chalkidiki peninsula are beginning to return to normalcy, the National Tourism Organization of Greece (EOT) said on Thursday, following a destructive storm that cost the lives of six tourists.
EOT confirmed minor damages from on-site visits, saying they were mostly in exposed areas that were being gradually repaired.
The agency said its headquarters in Athens and its 16 branches abroad were in constant communication with local authorities in Greece and abroad, including tour operators in specific areas, to provide updates on Chalkidiki.
"The management of EOT expresses its condolences to the families of victims, and wishes a fast recuperation for those injured," it said.
