Attica Region express concern over spike in new coronavirus infections

Athens Medical Association and Attica Region expressed their concern about the latest spike in coronavirus cases in Athens, during their meeting held on Wednesday.

They both stressed the need for meticulous observance of protection measures, especially as a large segment of the Greek population is traveling domestically for the summer holidays.

Giorgos Patoulis, President of Athens Medical Association and Attica Region Governor, stressed the need for immediate mobilization to prevent an uncontrolled increase in new infections, and said he has sent a letter to all Attica mayors, asking them to guard local communities against a potential spread of the virus.
